Services We Provide

Examinations

Scheduled examinations with a veterinarian take place weekdays from 9 am–noon and from 3 pm–6 pm. (Surgeries and dental procedures are performed from noon–3 pm.)

Vaccinations

Vaccine protocols are individualized for each cat and dog and are discussed at the time of examination in regard to risk versus benefit. Each pet vaccinated at APH is first examined to ensure that they are healthy enough to be vaccinated.

Diagnostics

As a full-service pet hospital, we perform x-rays, blood tests, urinalyses, and other needed evaluations in-house. We also have access to specialized laboratories and CT/MRI facilities for cases where advanced diagnostics are needed.

Surgery

Our veterinarians perform many types of surgeries, including spays, neuters, tumor removal, and biopsies. Orthopedic and more complicated procedures are performed by board-certified surgeons who work on-site on an as-needed basis.

Dentistry

We perform dental cleanings for dogs and cats with our high frequency water scaler and high speed polisher. During the procedure each pet is evaluated for gum health and tooth integrity. We also perform dental x-rays, extractions, and oral surgery as needed.

Referrals

We have long-established relationships with many board-certified veterinary specialists in the Bay Area, including acupuncturists, internists, oncologists, and ophthalmologists, as well as other specialties. We will help arrange a referral based on a pet’s needs.

Pharmacy

Our in-house pharmacy is stocked to meet the medical needs of our patients, and includes an ample supply of over-the-counter products to help with parasite control and grooming needs. In addition, we carry prescription diet food for dogs and cats.

Boarding

We board dogs and cats for our existing clients. Our kennel assistants take each dog to our fenced yard for playtime twice daily. To be accepted for boarding, pets must be current on vaccinations, neutered, and pass a temperament test to ensure that they will be comfortable in the kennel environment.
